Heditra News
A fast theme for tech news sites, reviews and deals. A homepage you arrange like a magazine, long reads that stay comfortable, and a light and a dark mode that both look finished.
Heditra News is in review for the WordPress.org theme directory.

Made for tech newsrooms
Everything a site about smartphones, computers, apps and deals needs, without a page builder and without a pile of options you will never touch.
A homepage you arrange
A slider with a side module, a “Right now” topics bar, a trending strip, a reviews grid and a feed that loads by batches over real /page/2/ links. Reorder or hide each section in the Customizer. No post shows twice.
Articles for long reads
Reading progress, a collapsible table of contents, an essentials box, text size and save-for-later buttons, and an author box at the end. Four layouts: standard, large image, short news and buying guide.
Sections like a magazine
Each category opens with its post count, a follow button, a featured slider and a 2×2 grid, then a sortable list with real pagination.
Colours you can trust
Every colour is a setting, and the Customizer warns you when a pair of colours falls below the WCAG AA contrast ratio.
Ads in their place
The theme declares places below the header, in the feed, in articles, before the conclusion and in the sidebar. Each one has a reserved height and can be switched off. Nothing appears anywhere else.
Fast and light
PHP templates for lean HTML, theme.json for colours and spacing, and only the style sheets a page needs. Fonts are preloaded for the visitor’s colour mode.
Bento by day, Nocturne by night
The light mode is called Bento, the dark one Nocturne. Heditra News follows the visitor’s system setting, and a button in the header lets readers switch. Their choice stays in their own browser: nothing is sent anywhere.
On a phone, the header shrinks as you scroll, sections slide sideways under it, and the mobile menu keeps the language switcher at hand.

Even more with Heditra Toolkit
Heditra News works on its own. Add the free Heditra Toolkit plugin and the same design gains review blocks with ratings and best prices, face-off comparisons, a deals page with promo codes and real deadlines, a software library with official download links, ad placement and privacy-friendly statistics.

Ready for your readers

With their community
bbPress forums follow the theme’s layout, breadcrumb and colour modes, so the community feels part of the site.
Whatever their needs
A skip link, full keyboard navigation, a visible focus and a clean order of headings that screen readers can follow.

Questions
Is Heditra News free?
Yes. It is released under the GNU GPL v2 or later, like WordPress itself. There is no paid version.
Do I need the Heditra Toolkit plugin?
No. The theme works alone. The plugin adds reviews, deals and a software library, and fills the ad places. Without it, those places simply stay empty.
Does it work with Rank Math or Yoast SEO?
Yes. The theme prints no SEO tags of its own, so your SEO plugin stays in charge.
Where do I set up the homepage?
In Appearance › Customize › Heditra News › Homepage: order and visibility of the sections, slider source, side module and feed.
How do I get help?
Once the theme is listed, use its support forum on WordPress.org. Until then, write to us through the contact page.
